Itinerary at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport

 Flights from the United States to Europe via Montreal

  • Step 1 - Connection

    After you deplane, follow the “Connections” sign.

  • Step 2 - Travel documents

    Have all your travel documents in hand and make sure you’ve filled out all necessary forms. You will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to transit in Canada.

  • Step 3 - Automated Passport Control

    Proceed to the Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks to submit your customs declaration electronically. Upon completion, the kiosk will issue a receipt.

  • Step 4 - Canadian Customs

    Then proceed to Canadian Customs to hand in your receipt.

 Flights from Europe to the United States via Montreal

  • Step 1 - Connection

    After you deplane, follow the “Connections” sign and ask a validation agent at the Montreal airport if you need assistance.

  • Step 2 - Travel documents

    Have all your travel documents in hand and make sure you’ve filled out all necessary forms. You will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to transit in Canada.

  • Step 3 - Security checkpoint

    Show your boarding pass to the agent before proceeding down the escalator, to the security checkpoint.

  • Step 4 - Automated Passport Control

    Proceed to the Automated Passport Control (APC) kiosks to submit your U.S. Customs declaration electronically. Upon completion, the kiosk will issue a receipt.

  • Step 5 - U.S. entry process

    Proceed to a waiting area. Once your name changes from orange to green on the display screens, an Air Transat agent will direct you to a customs agent, where you will show your receipt and passport to complete the U.S. entry process.

Itinerary at Toronto Pearson Airport

 Flights from the United States to Europe via Toronto

  • Step 1 - Connection

    After you deplane, follow the “Connections” sign.

  • Step 2 - Collect your baggage

    To retrieve your baggage, go to the baggage carousel corresponding to your flight number.

  • Step 3 - Canadian Customs

    Have all required travel documents on hand and make sure you have filled out all necessary forms. You will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to transit in Canada.
    Then proceed to Canadian customs.

  • Step 4 - Drop off your baggage

    You must drop off your baggage for your next flight. Proceed to the Air Transat transfer desk. Your boarding pass and baggage tag will be validated by the connecting team.

  • Step 5 - Security check

    Provide your boarding pass to the validating agent, then proceed to the security checkpoint.

    Proceed to your departure gate.

 Flights from Europe to the United States via Toronto

  • Step 1 - Connection

    After disembarking, follow the signs to Canada Customs and ask the Toronto airport validation agents if you need assistance.

  • Step 2 - Collect your baggage

    To retrieve your baggage, go to the baggage carousel corresponding to your flight number.

  • Step 3 - Canadian Customs

    Proceed to Canadian Customs to submit your customs declaration for Canada. You will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

  • Step 4 - Drop off your baggage

    You must drop off your baggage for your next flight. Proceed to the Air Transat transfer desk. Your boarding pass and baggage tag will be validated by the connecting team.

  • Step 5 - Security check

    Provide your boarding pass to the validating agent, then proceed to the security checkpoint.

  • Step 6 - U.S. Customs

    Proceed to U.S. Customs to submit your U.S. Customs Declaration. Make sure you have completed an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) application to enter the United States. This application must be completed at least 72 hours prior to departure. For all the details about the ESTA application, visit ESTA Will open in a separate browser window.
    Finally, proceed to your departure gate.
