Codeshare flights

What is a codeshare flight and what are its advantages?

Code sharing enables airlines to market partner flights under their own code. Codeshare flights allow for a wider selection of destinations, especially through a common network of hubs.

So, what does this mean for you? First off, these partnerships significantly facilitate your travel experience by allowing you to make just one booking and complete a single check-in for flights operated by two different airlines. That way, your checked bags will automatically be delivered to your final destination, and you will be protected in the event of a flight delay or cancellation.

  1. After choosing your travel itinerary on airtransat.com, codeshare flights will be identified with an “Operated by” note, which will clearly indicate the airline that is operating the flight.
  2. In the example below, flight TS7781 is operated by Porter. Because it is a codeshare, the flight number consists of the Air Transat carrier code (TS) and a series of four digits.
