A Honduran paradise with its own island airport

Honduras’s Islas de la Bahía is an archipelago composed of three islands, of which Roatán is the largest. Renowned for its proximity to the largest coral reef in the Caribbean, it’s ideal for diving. Beaches
The island of Roatán is known for its numerous white-sand beaches. West Bay is very popular, as are Sandy Bay and Anthony’s Key. All of these beaches are perfect for lounging in the sun.
Outings
On the Islas de la Bahía, near Roatán, nightlife revolves around the restaurants and the bars. One or two clubs have sporadically established themselves in Roatán.

With the family
At the Carambola Botanical Gardens, tourists can view a great variety of exotic trees and plants. It’s also possible to climb to the top of Carambola Mountain, with iguanas and parrots as hiking companions thrown into the bargain.
Diving
Some of the most beautiful diving sites in the Caribbean are near Roatán. Some incredibly diversified marine life can be found here. Visitors can drift thanks to La Punta’s currents. The coral is in good condition with several species of fish meandering through it. At West End Wall different species of sharks can even be observed. At Pablo’s Place there are magnificent coral walls and an abundance of cylindrical sponges.
