Where facilities permit (at Canadian gateways), designated check-in counters are available for families travelling with young children and unaccompanied minors. That means less time waiting in line!
Assistance
Travelling alone with kids and feeling overwhelmed? Let us know during check-in, and we'll be happy to guide you to the boarding gate and direct you upon arrival at your destination airport. Porters are usually available for hire to assist you with your checked baggage. To lighten the load for your little ones, we recommend transporting your kids’ toys in your own carry-on bag.
Do you want to hang on to your child’s stroller or car seat until boarding? No problem. Just let us know when you check in. We strongly recommend the use of small/collapsible strollers as they can be brought directly to the boarding gate at certain airports and delivered to you at the aircraft door upon arrival.

With the exception of flights to the U.S., we are happy to offer pre-boarding for families travelling with young children.
Seat assignments for families
Families are a top priority at Air Transat. That’s why we provide free* automated standard adjacent seat assignments for families on board our aircrafts.
Adjacent standard seats are assigned for free to children between 2 and 13 inclusively and their parents/guardians on the same family booking. These seats will be grouped together and assigned by the system.
Passengers can see their seat assignation on the «Manage My Booking» Will open in a separate browser window page, fourteen days prior to departure.
*Fees may apply if you decide to modify the seat selection that was assigned for free.
Stroller or folding wagon gate delivery service
At certain airports, families can bring their baby strollers or folding wagons to the boarding gate or the aircraft door. Air Transat will ensure that the strollers or folding wagons are properly tagged, collapsed and then checked in. Upon arrival at the destination, passengers will be able to recuperate their strollers or folding wagons at the aircraft door.
This service is not available in Cancun, Punta Cana, Rome, Zagreb, Bordeaux, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Nantes, Toulouse, Cuba and Spain. Complimentary strollers will be available on arrival, in Zagreb and Spain, except in Barcelona. Passengers will still be able to check in their strollers or (folding wagons) at the counter free of charge and recuperate them at the baggage carousel at their destination.
