The laptop may be carried in the cabin as a personal item.

The urn must be able to pass the x-ray at the security checkpoint (in carry-on or checked baggage). If it can be x-rayed and security can see the contents, it will be allowed in the cabin. If the contents cannot be viewed by x-ray, the urn will be refused for transport and must be shipped via alternate means such as air cargo or mail. Urns made of plastic, cardboard or cloth are recommended.

Passengers must present the cremation and the death certificates at check-in as well as security checkpoints.

Air Transat will not accept any small lithium battery-powered vehicles in either checked baggage or carry-on baggage due to safety concerns associated to the lithium batteries that power them.

Vehicles not accepted include hoverboards, electric skateboards, airwheels, mini-Segways and balance wheels.

Children under 18 kg (40 lb) will be safer and more comfortable on board when secured in an approved car seat or C.A.R.E.S.^* device.

Note : Booster seats or vest-type restraint systems do not provide sufficient protection on airplanes for small children. Thus, they are not approved for airline use.

Approved car seats:

• Canadian-made: The seat must be manufactured after Jan. 1, 1981 and must display inspection label.
  • CMVSS 213 or 213.1 Canada
• U.S.A.-made: The seat must be manufactured after Feb. 26, 1985 and must display these labels:
  • This child restraint system conforms to all applicable Federal motor Vehicle Safety Standards.
  • AND
  • This restraint is certified for use in motor vehicles and aircraft.
• Europe-made: Restraint system manufactured to the UN ECE standard (Europe) must bear two labels:
  • An international approval label consisting of a circle surrounding the letter “E” followed by the distinguishing number of the country that has granted approval (reflects UN standard ECE R 44, revision 03 or later).
  • A second label that states it is approved for use in aircraft.

Car seats manufactured in any other country are not approved for use on board.

^*C.A.R.E.S (child aviation restraint system): The AmSafe C.A.R.E.S device can be used by children between the ages of 1 and 4, weighing between 10-20 kg (22-44 lb) and whose height is 100 cm (40 in) or less.

Please ensure that equipment is properly wrapped/secured for transport to prevent loss or damage.

Not accepted as carry-on baggage.

Gate Delivery Service^*: At certain airports, passengers travelling with a baby stroller (or folding wagon) can take it right to the boarding gate and collect it at the aircraft door when they exit the plane.

^*This service is not available in Cancun, Punta Cana, Rome, Zagreb, Cuba and Spain. Complimentary strollers will be available on arrival, in Montreal, Zagreb and Spain, except in Barcelona. Passengers will still be able to check in their strollers (or folding wagons) at the counter free of charge and recuperate them at the baggage carousel at their destination.

Eco Budget (or Promo fare): All medical equipment is accepted as carry-on baggage if it respects authorized dimensions (23 x 40 x 55 cm (9 x 15.5 x 21.5 in)).

A CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine will be accepted as a carry-on if it meets our standard carry-on dimensions. Due to the excess weight of these machines, we ask that you limit your other carry-on items to the minimum that is required for your personal needs during flight. Please note that your medical equipment must be equipped with an independent power source (i.e., battery-powered) should you wish to use it during your flight. Air Transat regrets we are unable to provide you with power from any source.

Note: A limited quantity of distilled water used by this device is exempt from the liquid restrictions for carry-on baggage. We recommend that passengers carry supporting documentation from their doctor to facilitate security screening.

Must be securely closed/folded and placed in a sturdy bag. A sturdy plastic bag will be provided at all Air Transat check-in counters at no charge. The bag measures 101 cm x 162 cm (40 in x 64 in), with 55 cm (22 in) gussets.

A musical instrument may replace a regular carry-on bag, when included in the reservation. Instruments exceeding this allowance, size or weight must be checked.

The instrument must be stored in the overhead bin.

To prevent any damage, we advise storing the musical instrument in a protective hard case.

Stowage space in the cabin is very limited, therefore not available for the transportation of musical instruments.
