On-board

Air Transat strives to provide a safe and secure environment on board our aircraft for you, your fellow passengers and our crewmembers. In this section, we outline the types of behaviour that are considered disorderly and the penalties imposed by law.

Anyone in contravention of the law or violating the rights of others will be intercepted by the police upon landing, and could face fines of up to CA $100,000, a jail sentence of up to five years, or both.

Under the Criminal Code of Canada and the Aeronautics Act, it is illegal to behave in a threatening manner. The crew will not tolerate any disorderly behaviour on board the aircraft.

Examples of interference:

• Harassment
• Verbal abuse
• Physical abuse
• Sexual offences
• Intimidating behaviour
• Intoxicated and disorderly conduct
• Disregard of smoking regulations, including electronic cigarettes
• Consuming carry-on or duty-free alcoholic beverages
• Refusal to follow instructions of the crew
• Endangering the safety of the aircraft
