Holguin Travel Guide

  • Cuba’s aquatic side

Close to an hour’s drive from the airport, Holguin is every beach seeker’s perfect vacation destination. Located on the eastern coast of Cuba, Holguin has five beautiful beaches, the best being Playa Esmeralda and Playa Guardalavaca. Both are covered in white sand, lined with palm trees and next to turquoise waters great for snorkelling.

Explore Holguin

  • Holguin by night

Holguin also boasts vibrant nightlife. You can see it all from the top of Loma de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross) or up close at one of the many popular nightclubs on the strip.

  • Nature's wonderland

An escapade that often tops the list of things to do in Holguin is a gorgeous catamaran ride to Bahía Naranjo, an idyllic spot where dolphins are more than willing to frolic with anyone who jumps into the water. Travellers will also be able to enjoy eating fresh fish and fruits on this day trip!

  • Coral reefs and tropical fish

The rich marine life off the beaches of Holguin is a must-explore. Cuba’s colourful and bustling underwater world is a treat for amateur divers and snorkellers while the more experienced ones can hop on a boat to the magnificent coral reef nearby and marvel at its magnificence. Book a trip to the 40-metre Pesquero dive site for a look at Black Coral, some of the rarest on earth.
