In the centre of the old town, La Habana Vieja, travellers experience beauty in decay as the lack of restoration lends a layer of mystery to the buildings of this historic city. Simply walk around streets like Calle Obispo and take it all in. A visit to the well-kept Hotel Nacional shows what once was…if only the walls could talk!
Havana’s historical legacy is so deeply entrenched that one could spend weeks in the city and barely scratch the surface.
Do like Ernest Hemingway and enjoy a mojito at the Bodeguita del Medio or go to the historic bar Floridita for Daiquiris.
Churches, theatres clubs and bars leave travellers with more than enough to do, day and night (and even into the wee hours of the morning!)
